Europe minister Linda Fabiani has demanded that the UK Government holds a referendum on the recently signed EU Reform Treaty.
Ms Fabiani accused Prime Minister Gordon Brown of acting with "contempt" for public opinion for refusing to hold a poll on the Treaty.
She claimed the agreement had changed little from an earlier draft which the Labour Party promised to hold a referendum on in its manifesto for the 2005 General Election.
