Obama's Birth Issue EXPLODES!

By JB Williams

Excerpt:
Just yesterday, I released Obama Media Machine Rushing to Derail Treason Charges and the column went viral within moments of its release. Take a few minutes to read my up-to-date report on the issue driving the Obama White House, congressional Marxists and their media minions insane!

Within hours, every network news agency was in damage control mode, spinning their twisted set of false facts and missing evidence into a demonstration of unbridled outrage aimed at American citizens who simply want to know who the mystery messiah is, residing in their White House.

Within hours, every network news agency was in damage control mode, spinning their twisted set of false facts and missing evidence into a demonstration of unbridled outrage aimed at American citizens who simply want to know who the mystery messiah is, residing in their White House.

Are “birthers” Getting too close for Comfort?...

If Obama is a “Natural Born Citizen” – Why Can’t he Prove it?...

Even “Right-wing” Pundits are Running for Cover
So-called “right-wing” talking heads like Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly are also carrying water for Obama by downplaying the “birther” (aka constitutionally concerned citizen) demand to know who the mystery messiah really is.

What’s in Obama’s records, that is so dangerous to his current standing, that NOBODY wants to open those files? Whatever it is, members of the House would rather pass a resolution declaring Obama a “citizen” than ask him to open those files… Why?

Real Conspiracy or Just a Theory?

Robert Gibbs Lame Parsing of Words
Reacting once again to press corps softballs tossed up for Gibbs to hit out of the park, White House press secretary Gibbs parsed his words very carefully....

CBS News reports – “Gibbs lashed out Monday at the so-called “birthers” who believe President Obama is not a legal U.S. citizen despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.”
Notice the absence of the term “natural born citizen.” Gibbs and CBS both know that we are NOT discussing “legal US citizenship” but rather the Founder’s “natural born citizen” requirement, unique to the Oval Office...

What is a Natural Born Citizen?
But the subject is really quite simple…
To know with certainty what the Founders meant by “natural born citizen,” one need look no further than the “natural law” at the foundation of everything they did...

Natural law says, when a father has a son, the son is the “natural born” descendent of the father, assuming his sir name and his citizenship by “birth right.” No man-made law is needed to establish the “birth rights” of the son...

No Room to Run
House Resolution 593 is NOT binding. It is only symbolic.
Still it demonstrates the lengths to which the federal government, both Democrats and Republicans, are willing to go to avoid whatever hard evidence on the matter might exists in Obama’s official birth, adoption, college and passport records..

Iran Threatens Strike on Israel's Nuclear Facilities if Attacked

Threat of Attack
Saturday, July 25, 2009
FoxNews

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said Saturday the country would strike Israel's nuclear facilities if Tel Aviv attacked the Islamic state, Reuters reported state television as saying.

"If the Zionist Regime (Israel) attacks Iran, we will surely strike its nuclear facilities with our missile capabilities," Mohammad Ali Jafari, Guards commander-in-chief, said.
Jafari said Israel was entirely within the reach of Iran.

"Our missile capability puts all of the Zionist regime (Israel) within Iran's reach to attack," Jafari said.

Iranian leaders have said Iran would respond to any attack from Israel by targeting U.S. interests and Israel.

Jafari said Iran "was not scared" of Israel's military capabilities.

"It is part of the psychological war that the West has launched against Iran," Jafari said.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said this week a nuclear Iran could be contained by a U.S. "defense umbrella," setting off tremors in the Middle East.

Since making the remark on a television chat show in Thailand, Clinton has backpedaled, saying she was only restating existing policy and not referring to any sort of formal guarantees of protection under an American "nuclear umbrella."

And when Israeli officials raised alarms that she seemed to suggest the U.S. was resigned to a nuclear-armed Iran, Clinton and senior State Department officials hastily insisted such a prospect was still unacceptable and that no policy had changed.

The Obama administration is dispatching four of its most senior foreign policy and security figures to Israel this coming week to urge the country to shelve any plan for a military strike to sabotage Iran's nuclear facilities, arguing that Obama's offer of engagement and talks with Iran deserves time to bear fruit.

Obama's senior military advisers say a strike could cause more problems than it solves in the short run, but Israeli leaders are firm that their small country in Iran's line of fire must make such calculations for itself.

Bible Bashed In the Name of Art

Word of God takes a beating
July 24, 2009
Article from: The Australian

Visitors to a gallery in Scotland have been defacing the Bible in the name of art.

The Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow has invited art lovers to write their thoughts down in an open Bible on display as part of its "Made in God's Image" exhibition.

Next to the Bible lie several pens with a note saying: "If you feel you have been excluded from the Bible, please write your way back into it."

Several visitors have already taken up the offer, choosing to leave messages of abuse and obscenity rather than support for the words of God.

"This is all sexist pish, so disregard it all," one message read.

Another scrawled over the first page of Genesis: "I am Bi, Female & Proud. I want no god who is disappointed in this."

Others wrote: "The Gospel According to Luke Skywalker", "F... the Bible" and "Fascist God".
The exhibition, which also includes a woman ripping pages from a Bible and stuffing them into her underwear, has outraged the Catholic Church and the Church of Scotland.

But the gallery's artist in residence, Anthony Schrag, is unrepentant. "Any offensive things that have been written are not the point of the work," he said.

"It was an open gesture. Are those who say they are upset offended by the things that people write, or just by the very notion that someone should write on a Bible? If we are to open up the Bible for discussion, surely we have to invite people to speak out."

The Metropolitan Community Church proposed the exhibition as a way of reclaiming the Bible as a sacred text.

Obama ambushed Netanyahu in the Oval Office

Obama ambushed Netanyahu in the Oval Office
M E N O R A H
July 23, 2009

Without any preparation or advance warning, Obama placed his ultimatum in front of Netanyahu.

Instead of acting as a good friend or counselor, he became the bad cop. That is how he turned Netanyahu from an admirer into an adversary in the blink of an eye.

But Obama did not settle for that. Soon after the confrontation in Washington he renounced the commitments made by previous administrations on the settlement blocs. More

Abortion, economics, and Ireland’s dilemma

By Wyatt Ciesielka
Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Lcg.org

Ireland rejected the Lisbon treaty in 2008, and Eurocrats are again near despair over another potential Irish “no vote.” The Beast is growing, and it wants Ireland. Consequently, Brussels’ bureaucrats are paying lip service to Irish demands on military neutrality, taxation autonomy and anti-abortion laws. Ireland can gain economic advantage and, in return, Europe requests Ireland’s sovereignty, its future, and its children. How will Ireland decide?

An analysis of Brussels’ intentions and the law shows their dubious “concessions” are nothing more than political pandering and it is doubtful that they would ever be fully granted (The Irish Times, “Lisbon Treaty and abortion,” July 18, 2009).

At the moment, Ireland appears determined to defend the Eighth Amendment to its constitution, added in 1983, which strictly outlaws abortion and prevents it from being legalized in the future…so long as Ireland remains a sovereign nation, of course! This is a point which biblically based Christians should understand, and on which interestingly, the Catholic church is also adamant (The Irish Times, July 16, 2009). Scripture shows that God knows and loves the unborn baby. David and others were known by God, and were special to God, even “in the womb” (Psalms 139:13-16).

Whether killed through Caesarean abortion (where the preterm baby is extracted and suffocates to death), or partial-birth abortion (where the baby is partially delivered, only to have his or her brains suctioned out), or through other procedures, scripture plainly shows that God knows and loves the unborn baby and considers it a living human being. (See, Abortion: A Deadly Game of Terminology for more on this.)

Ireland may have noble intentions, and may delude itself into believing it has solved its anti-abortion dilemma, but what of its national dilemma?

Under E.U. pressure and amidst political promises, on July 13, the Irish approved holding another Lisbon referendum this coming October 3 (The Irish Times, July 13, 2009). This is a major step toward membership. And, following Iceland’s July 17 “yes vote” (The Wall Street Journal, July 17, 2009), and considering dubious E.U. assurances to Irish demands, the pressure on Ireland to ratify Lisbon has never been greater.

Furthermore, if Ireland votes “yes,” and global economics further deterioriate, then the pressure on Britain to succumb will be unprecedented. The E.U. knows this, and is moving fast on both Ireland and Britain, especially before a Euro-skeptic British Conservative party replaces Britain’s Euro-friendly Labor government in coming months (Financial Times, June 18, 2009).

Pressure to join the E.U. is becoming irresistible. Europe is already an economic and political colossus, and will also temporarily become a religious and military superpower (the Beast of Revelation 13:15-18). Perhaps well-meaning and practical from a human perspective, this final revival of the “Holy Roman Empire” will temporarily enrich those who accept its rules and will be sanctioned and even directed by a powerful religious system (Revelation 17:2-5). Note that this religious system will also exert religious pressure to re-gather her wayward religious “daughters” (Isaiah 47:8).

However, this economic and military empire will be fraught with political division (Daniel 2:33-34). Today, we see a Roman Catholic-backed European empire rapidly coalescing exactly as Scripture and God’s Church has long warned!

So-called guarantees are nothing more than political promises, and post-referendum, E.U. law will be law. Regardless of temporary economic advantage, Ireland, the U.K. and the other European nations are warned against “fornicating” with this system. To disregard this warning is to disregard God’s admonition to “come out of her” or share in her plagues (Revelation 18:3-4).

Ireland’s dilemma is not just about whether or not to trust E.U. political rhetoric. Like our individual choices, Ireland’s dilemma is really about whether or not to compromise, to commit spiritual fornication, and suffer God’s wrath. How will Ireland decide? How will we, individually decide?

2012: The Hype and the Truth

By Wallace G. Smith
Saturday, July 18, 2009

As my wife and I walked into the local cinema, before us stood one of the largest movie advertisement displays I’ve ever seen. It depicted a coastal city being completely ripped apart by unprecedented seismic activity—tossing vast swaths of the city into the sky and dumping entire neighborhoods into a hungry ocean. It was a scene of utter devastation that clearly would have taken the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. And it was a fitting advertisement for the movie 2012, the new End-Of-The-World epic written and directed by Roland Emmerich, coming out this November.

No stranger to such movies, with 2012 Mr. Emmerich is capitalizing on a growing public fascination: the idea that the world will end on December 21, 2012...

Why 2012?

It seems the Mayans—the well-known and much-studied ancient Mesoamerican empire—kept many calendars, including one known as the “Long Count Calendar.” This calendar will reach the end of a 5,100-year-long epoch on—you guessed it—December 21, 2012.

Is there anything to the hype? Should we expect doomsday to come on 12/21/2012—or, perhaps, a New Age paradise?

'Science Czar' John P. Holdren's disturbing beliefs about America, capitalism and humanity

'Science Czar' John P. Holdren's disturbing beliefs about America, capitalism and humanity
July 16, 7:18 AM
Kathy Shaidle
Conservative Politics Examiner

John P. Holdren has been named President Barack Obama's 'Science Czar."

Holdren's official titles are: Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Assistant to the President for Science and Technology; and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

...Holdren is no stranger to controversy.

Holdren's radicalism dates back to the late 1960s. In 1969 Holdren wrote that it was imperative “to convince society and its leaders that there is no alternative but the cessation of our irresponsible, all-demanding, and all-consuming population growth.”

That same year, he and (the now largely discredited) professor of population studies Paul Ehrlich jointly predicted: “If … population control measures are not initiated immediately and effectively, all the technology man can bring to bear will not fend off the misery to come.” In 1971 Holdren and Ehrlich warned that “some form of ecocatastrophe, if not thermonuclear war, seems almost certain to overtake us before the end of the century.”

Viewing capitalism as an economic system that is inherently harmful to the natural environment, Holdren and Ehrlich in 1973 called for “a massive campaign … to de-develop the United States” and other Western nations in order to conserve energy and facilitate growth in underdeveloped countries.

“De-development,” they said, “means bringing our economic system into line with the realities of ecology and the world resource situation.” “By de-development,” they elaborated, “we mean lower per-capita energy consumption, fewer gadgets, and the abolition of planned obsolescence.” "
In a new report “inspired by this article in FrontPage,” undercover videoblogger “Zombietime” (known for his “candid camera”-style exposes of leftist activists and protesters) got hold of a copy of Holdren & Ehrlich’s 1977 book, entitled Ecoscience, and verified the quotations and page citations provided in the FrontPage Magazine article, by scanning and posting them on the Internet.

To this day, Holdren lists the book on his CV.

Among other things, Holdren and Ehrlich wrote in Ecosystems:

  • Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.

  • It would even be possible to require pregnant single women to marry or have abortions, perhaps as an alternative to placement for adoption, depending on the society.

  • Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control. Indeed, this would pose some very difficult political, legal, and social questions, to say nothing of the technical problems. No such sterilant exists today, nor does one appear to be under development. To be acceptable, such a substance would have to meet some rather stiff requirements: it must be uniformly effective, despite widely varying doses received by individuals, and despite varying degrees of fertility and sensitivity among individuals; it must be free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects; and it must have no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets, or livestock.

Barack changes tune in Ghana

Barack changes tune in Ghana

Anne Bayefsky
July 14, 2009
Article from: The Australian

Reprinted. Highlight added

Why couldn't the US President talk tough in Cairo like he did to the Africans?

SPEAKING in Ghana on Saturday, Barack Obama lectured Africans on local repression, corruption, brutality, good governance and accountability. The startling contrast to his June speech in Cairo was revealing.

Stroking Muslim and Arab nations has become the hallmark of the US President's foreign policy.

In Egypt, he
chose not to utter the words terrorism or genocide. In Egypt, there was nothing "brutal" he could conjure up, no "corruption" and no "repression". In Ghana, with a 70 per cent Christian population, he mentioned "good governance" seven times and added direct calls to "make change from the bottom up". He praised "people taking control of their destiny" and pressed "young people" to "hold your leaders accountable".

He made no such calls for action by the people of Arab states, despite the fact not a single Arab country is free, according to the latest Freedom House global survey. Before the Muslim world Obama donned the role of apologist-in-chief. Over and over again his examples of shortfalls in the protection of rights and freedoms were American: the "prison at Guantanamo Bay", "rules on charitable giving (that) have made it harder for Muslims to fulfil their religious obligation", impediments to the choice of Muslim women to shroud their bodies.

Christian Africa was to be treated to no such self-flagellation. In a rare tongue-lashing for Africans from any US president, he chastised: "It's easy to point fingers and to pin the blame of these problems on others. Yes, a colonial map that made little sense helped to breed conflict ... but the West is not responsible for the destruction of the Zimbabwean economy ... or wars in which children are enlisted as combatants ... tribalism and patronage and nepotism ... and ... corruption."

He might equally have said to the Arab and Muslim world: "It's easy to scapegoat Israel and blame your problems on the presence of Jews -- albeit on a fraction of 1 per cent of the territory inhabited by the Arab world -- but Israel is not responsible for poverty, illiteracy, torture, trafficking, slavery and oppression rampant across your countries." But he did not.

In Ghana he pointed to specific heroes
who had exposed human rights abuse, singling out by name a courageous investigative reporter. In Egypt, though journalists and bloggers are routinely threatened, jailed and worse, no such brave soul came to mind.

In a Christian African nation he said: "If we are honest, for far too many Africans, conflict is a part of life, as constant as the sun. There are wars over land and wars over resources. And it is still far too easy for those without conscience to manipulate whole communities into fighting among faiths and tribes."

To the Arab and Muslim world he could have said: "Since the day of Israel's birth Arab and Muslim countries have made conflict with Israel a part of life, warring over land and manipulating whole communities into fighting in the name of Islam to render the area Judenrein."

Instead, he turned on the only democracy in the Middle East and said the presence of Jews on Arab-claimed territory -- settlements -- was an affront to be stopped. It didn't matter that agreements require ultimate ownership of this territory to be determined by negotiation or that apartheid Palestine is hardly a worthy pursuit.

From Ghana he chided Africans: "No person wants to live in a society where the rule of law gives way to the rule of brutality and bribery. That is not democracy, that is tyranny, even if occasionally you sprinkle an election in there. And now is the time for that style of governance to end."

For an Arab and Muslim audience he cooed: "America will defend itself, respectful of the sovereignty of nations and the rule of law. And we will do so in partnership with Muslim communities, which are also threatened."

Ghanaians will likely turn the other cheek, secure enough to take it and even be grateful for the spotlight. But Obama's double standard is not a victimless crime. The disparity between the scolding he gave in Ghana and the love-in he held in Cairo illuminates an incoherent and dangerous agenda.

In his lofty but empty rhetoric in Ghana, Obama promised "we must stand up to inhumanity in our midst", pledged "a commitment ... to sanction and stop" warmongers and embraced the Zimbabwe non-governmental organisation that "braved brutal repression to stand up for the principle that a person's vote is their sacred right".

These are devastating words for Iranians struggling valiantly to keep the hope of democracy alive but forced to bear witness to the contradiction. Betrayed, they have watched the Obama administration pledge to move forward on negotiations with illegally ensconced Iranian thugs, at the same time their victims are being rounded up, tortured and readied for show trials in advance of certain execution.

On Friday, Obama, and the rest of the G8 with his blessing, announced that thinking about more sanctions on Iran can wait until September. And then we can expect yet another round of UN Security Council dickering over minimalist responses to more Iranian stalling tactics, until an Iranian nuclear weapon is inevitable.

Though it is 2202 days since the UN's atomic energy agency first declared that Iran was violating the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, Obama pretends that legitimising those same nuclear-proliferating fascists makes it likelier the clock will stop ticking. Iranians standing up for their allegedly "sacred rights" know Obama has it exactly backwards.

Speechifying about "our interconnected world" and "common interests" in Ghana was cold comfort to the voices of Muslim dissidents and Jewish victims deserted in the Obama wilderness.

Obama creates a deadly power vacuum

July 12, 2009
Obama creates a deadly power vacuum -
By Spengler, Asia Times

Reprinted in full:

There’s no one left to betray America to. Obama is creating a strategic void in which no major power will dominate, and every minor power must fend for itself.

The outcome is incalculably hard to analyze and terrifying to consider. Obama doesn’t want to betray the United States; he only wants to empower America’s enemies. Forcing Israel to abandon its strategic buffer (the so-called settlements) was supposed to placate Iran, so that Iran would help America stabilize Iraq, where its influence looms large over the Shi’ite majority.

America also sought Iran’s help in suppressing the Taliban in Afghanistan. In Obama’s imagination, a Sunni Arab coalition - empowered by Washington’s turn against Israel - would encircle Iran and dissuade it from acquiring nuclear weapons, while an entirely separate Shi’ite coalition with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization would suppress the radical Sunni Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

This was the worst-designed scheme concocted by a Western strategist since Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery attacked the bridges at Arnhem in 1944, and it has blown up in Obama’s face. Iran already has made clear that casting America’s enemies in the leading role of an American operation has a defect, namely that America’s enemies rather would lose on their own terms than win on America’s terms. Iran’s verbal war with the American president over the violent suppression of election-fraud protests leaves Washington with no policy at all.

The premise of Obama’s policy was that progress on the Palestinian issue would empower a Sunni coalition. As the president said May 18:

  • If there is a linkage between Iran and the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, I personally believe it actually runs the other way. To the extent that we can make peace with the Palestinians - between the Palestinians and the Israelis, then I actually think it strengthens our hand in the international community in dealing with the potential Iranian threat.

Israel’s supporters remonstrated in vain. Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, a prominent Obama supporter, wrote, “If there is to be any linkage - and I do not believe there should be - it goes the other way: it will be much easier for Israel to end its occupation of the West Bank if Iran does not have a nuclear umbrella under which it can continue to encourage Hamas and Hezbollah to fire rockets at Israeli civilians.”

No matter: America made clear that it had annulled the George W Bush administration’s promise that a final settlement would allow most of Israel’s 500,000 “settlers” to keep their homes, in order to launch the fantasy ship of Iranian cooperation with America. That policy now is in ruins, and Washington has no plan B.

David Axelrod, Obama’s top political advisor, told television interviewers on January 28 that Iran’s President Mahmud Ahmadinejad, who spent the last week denouncing the United States, “Did not have final say” over Iran’s foreign policy and that America still wanted to negotiate with Iran. This sounds idiotic, but the White House really has painted itself into a corner. The trouble is that Obama has promised to withdraw American forces from Iraq, and Iran has sufficient influence in Shi’ite-majority Iraq to cause continuous upheaval, perhaps even to eventually win control of the country. [..] What will the administration do now?

As all its initiatives splatter against the hard realities of the region, it will probably do less and less, turning the less appetizing aspects of the fighting over to local allies and auxiliaries who do not share its squeamishness about shedding civilian blood. That is the most dangerous outcome of all, for America is the main stabilizing force in the region. The prospect of civil wars raging simultaneously in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq is no longer improbable. The Israel-Palestine issue is linked to all of these through Iran, whose credibility depends on its ability to sustain such puppies of war as Hezbollah and Hamas.

[..]
The last thing China wants at the moment is to undercut the US dollar, for three reasons. First, as America’s largest creditor, China has the most to lose from a dollar collapse. Second, Americans would buy fewer Chinese imports. And third, the collapse of the dollar would further erode America’s will to fulfill its superpower function, and that is what China wants least of all. America remains the indispensable outsider in Asia.

No one likes the United States, but everyone dislikes the United States less than they dislike their neighbors. India need not worry about China’s role in Pakistan, for example, because America mediates Indian-Pakistani relations, and America has no interest in a radical change to the status quo. Neither does China, for that matter, but India is less sure of that. China does not trust Japan for historical reasons that will not quickly fade, but need not worry about it because America is the guarantor of Japan’s security. The Seventh Fleet is the most disliked - and nonetheless the most welcome - entity in Asia.

All of this may change drastically, quickly, and for the worse. Obama’s policy reduces to empowering America’s enemies in the hope that they will conform to American interests out of gratitude. Just the opposite result is likely to ensure: Iran, Pakistan and other regional powers are likely to take radical measures. Iran is threatened with a collapse of its Shi’ite program from Lebanon to Afghanistan, and Pakistan is threatened with a breakup into three or more states.

Obama has not betrayed the interests of the United States to any foreign power, but he has done the next worst thing, namely to create a void in the region by withdrawing American power. The result is likely to be a species of pandemonium that will prompt the leading players in the region to learn to live without the United States. In his heart of hearts, Obama sees America as a force for evil in the world, apologizing for past American actions that did more good than harm.

[..]
My Latin American friends who still mourn the victims of Pinochet’s “night and fog” state terror will not like to hear this, but the several thousand people killed or tortured by the military government were collateral damage in the Cold War. Like Iran, Chile became the battleground of a Soviet-American proxy war. The same is true in Nicaragua. (Full disclosure: I advised Nicaragua’s president Violeta Chamorro after she defeated the Cuban-backed Sandinistas in the 1990 elections; I did so with no tie to any government agency.)

Obama’s continuing obsession with America’s supposed misdeeds - deplorable but necessary actions in time of war - is consistent with his determination to erode America’s influence in the most troubled parts of the world.

By removing America as a referee, he will provoke more violence than the United States ever did.

We are entering a very, very dangerous period as a result.

POPE ENDORSES "WORLD POLITICAL AUTHORITY"

By Cliff Kincaid
July 9, 2009

Some in the media are calling it just a statement about “economic justice.” But Pope Benedict XVI’s “Charity in Truth” statement, also known as an encyclical, is a radical document that puts the Roman Catholic Church firmly on the side of an emerging world government.

In explicit and direct language, the Pope calls for a “true world political authority” to manage the affairs of the world...

Revelation: The Mystery Unveiled

A Stagerring Federal Deficit That Many Expect to grow - NYTimes.com

By PETER S. GOODMAN
Published: July 7, 2009
The New York Times

Excerpt:
...considerable debate centers on when and how vigorously to start easing off Washington’s borrowing habit, with substantial risks at both extremes.

Pull back on government spending now, ...consider giving another dose of stimulus spending now, despite the fact that this will add to the deficit.

Keep spending with abandon, goes the counterargument, and invite the possibility of a debt crisis with spiking interest rates, crippling inflation and a plunging dollar.

Those arguing for tighter federal spending to contain the budget deficit contend the nation has already borrowed so much money that the people who have lent it may get spooked and abruptly refuse to supply more.

China’s central bank and other foreign creditors might curb their purchases of American government savings bonds, which finance so much national spending. That would force the Treasury to pay higher interest rates to attract other buyers of its debt, lifting interest rates throughout the American economy.

And that would increase the costs of borrowing for companies and ordinary families alike in the midst of economic weakness, like a wet blanket thrown on an already weak fire.

“We are not an island,” said Martin N. Baily, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Bill Clinton and now a fellow at the Brookings Institution. “We are part of the global economy, and there are concerns out there among those who have been buying our debts that we owe too much.”

...In this view, pulling back now in the interest of limiting the deficit would be akin to withholding pharmaceuticals from a patient stricken with a potentially fatal disease because the treatment might itself leave long-term damage.

The deficit has grown in part because of the $787 billion spending package championed by the Obama administration to...

...On one point alone, no debate is required: The United States already owes staggering sums of money and will soon owe more.

The Congressional Budget Office projects federal spending will exceed revenues by $1.7 trillion this year, or about 12 percent of the nation’s annual economic output — the largest deficit since World War II.

The budget outlook at every horizon is troubling,” declared Alan J. Auerbach, a finance expert at the University of California, Berkeley, and William G. Gale, an economist at the Brookings Institution, in a recent paper. “The fiscal year 2009 budget is enormous; the 10-year projection is clearly unsustainable; and the long-term outlook is dire and increasingly urgent.”

The budget office estimates that federal debt will reach $12 trillion by this fall and exceed $13 trillion by September 2010. Merely paying the interest on this year’s debt will cost taxpayers $565 billion, or 4 percent of the nation’s annual economic output.

“The magnitudes are very worrisome,” said John B. Taylor,... is particularly concerned about inflation. Absent sustained and robust economic growth, the only way for the United States to pay down its debt is to cut spending or raise taxes — both politically difficult. That may tempt the government to take a seemingly easier course: print money to pay the bills.

Creating money out of thin air tends to increase prices, raising the possibility of the return to the sort of inflation that crippled the economy in the 1970s.

“I’m absolutely worried about inflation,” Mr. Taylor said.

But the longer term is laced with uncertainty and potential policy mistakes. The bigger the deficit, the bigger the potential consequences of any mistakes...

“We’re running this $10 trillion gamble that interest rates aren’t going to rise,” said Kenneth S. Rogoff, a former chief economist at the International Monetary Fund and now a professor at Harvard. “If they do, we could end up in a very difficult situation.”

During the last decade, the United States has come to depend on borrowing at exceedingly low rates courtesy of a global savings glut: China and other fast-growing economies harvested their winnings from booming exports and invested them in American bonds.

Coming years are likely to look different, economists say...

“Suddenly global investors look out and say ‘Wait a minute, are Americans really willing to tax themselves to pay us back?’ ” Mr. Rogoff said. “We’re at risk. The history of financial crises is that you’re rolling along, and then there’s a loss of confidence.”

German FM Steinmeier Watch

A man to watch? German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier

German FM less Jew-friendly than Nazis - The visiting German FM stated that Middle East peace cannot advance unless Israel freezes the settlements. Presumably Hamas would then reconcile with Fatah, PIJ would dismantle its rocket arsenals, and all of them would embrace the Jewish state, if only it would stop a few housing projects in the West Bank.

Even the Nazis supported the Zionist settlement movement, if only as a way of moving the German Jews to Palestine

Stop settlements or sacrifice Mideast peace: German FM
Steinmeier, who is also vice chancellor and is challenging conservative Chancellor Angela Merkel in September general elections, is on his 14th Middle East tour since taking office in November 2005 in a left-right government...

He warned that regional powers such as Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates which have been "constructive" on Middle East peace could jump ship if Israel continues to build on occupied land...

Steinmeier said Europe and Germany have a crucial role to play in laying the groundwork for a Middle East peace backed by Arab neighbours, adding that "Germany has a voice that is heard in the entire region...

US lurching towards 'debt explosion' with long-term interest rates on course to double

By Philip Aldrick, Banking EditorPublished: 5:44AM BST 06 Jul 2009

Excerpt:

The US economy is lurching towards crisis with long-term interest rates on course to double, crippling the country’s ability to pay its debts and potentially plunging it into another recession, according to a study by the US’s own central bank ...

The US deficit has blown out from 3pc to 13.5pc in the past year but long-term rates are largely unchanged...

Should the cost of raising or refinancing public debt in the markets double, “the debt could just explode”, he said, adding that it would come to a head in “five to 10 years”.

Prophetic trouble in the wake of a burst real estate bubble

By Scott Winnail
Saturday, July 04, 2009

The median US home price has fallen over 21% from its peak in 2007 – that is, on average, more than $56,000 per home. Simultaneously, the value of the US dollar has fallen against many world currencies, prompting more than one nation to voice the observation, “America is for sale!”

According to one conservative US economic forecaster, “In terms of the international purchasing power of the dollar, which has declined precipitously, the median price of a single-family home has fallen more than 35 percent to levels last seen in 1998. That’s due to the decline in the international purchasing power of the dollar since 2001, coupled with the decline in housing prices in dollar terms …

The decline in the value of the dollar will become an important stabilizing factor in U.S. real estate prices. It means more foreign investors should soon be investing in U.S. property … Indeed, based on my travels, particularly through Asia, and considering especially metropolitan areas and their suburbs in places such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and even Bangkok – I would say that U.S. property prices now represent some of the best bargains on the planet” (uncommonwisdomdaily.com, June 29, 2009).

The current world economic situation is sobering to watch from any vantage point. It is emotionally gut-wrenching to watch friends, neighbors and family members lose their homes and property. It is especially sobering to watch the loss of property that has been passed down through a family for generations; property intended as an inheritance for future generations.

On the other hand, these sobering economic events are also arguably exciting, for true Christians, because they are evidence that God is working out His plan here below. God warned long ago that with the declining morality and increasing disobedience to His law among Israelite-descended nations, hard times would come.

One prophecy that is closely related to the above real estate statistics is found in both Deuteronomy and Lamentations. God warned ancient Israel and the modern Israelite-descended nations, that “The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail” (Deuteronomy 28:43-44).

We see this warning continued in the book of Lamentations. This book is God’s dual lament over the destruction of Jerusalem, ancient Israel’s capital, and the future fall of the Israelite-descended nations. Speaking through the prophet Jeremiah, God prophesied of a future perspective of His people, Remember, O Lord, what has come upon us; Look, and behold our reproach! Our inheritance has been turned over to aliens, and our houses to foreigners” (Lamentations 5:1-2).

As US home and property prices drop on the world market and “foreigners” purchase more of them, Americans will truly “lose the inheritance” of many generations, as they sell their homes and property. This sobering reality is a fulfillment of one of God’s end-time prophecies – a prophecy that must come to pass unless the Israelite-descended nations (the US included) return to God and His way.

But there is a silver lining to this sad story. God also prophesied that one day, in the not-too-distant future, He will return a precious land to the Israelite-descended nations: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness [Jesus Christ]; a King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely … but, as the Lord lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I had driven them. And they shall dwell in their own land” (Jeremiah 23:5-6, 8).

This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled! Christ has not retuned to the earth as King, and the twelve tribes of Israel were never given back their land to dwell in. As we see hard times happening to people living in the Israelite-descended nations, we can rest assured that God has a better future planned for everyone.

'Obama' Think-Tank: Israel Should Cede Jerusalem Sovereignty

by Hillel Fendel
(IsraelNN.com)

A think tank which is arguably the most influential in Washington is proposing an “interim” neutral administration to govern Jerusalem instead of Israel.

The Center for American Progress (CAP), headquartered just three blocks from the White House in Washington, is regarded as one of the most influential think tanks in the city, if not the most influential... some of the group's recommendations were adopted by Obama while he was still president-elect...

Four weeks ago, CAP held a panel discussion based on the premise that the Old City of Jerusalem is the main impediment in finding a solution to the Israel-Arab problem in the Holy Land. Michael Bell, a former Canadian Ambassador to Jordan, Egypt and Israel, presented a plan entitled the Jerusalem Old City Initiative. The plan does not call for the internationalization of Jerusalem -- but is not far off from that. It recommends that both Israel and a future state of Palestine appoint a third-party administrator that would run and police the city.

A Different Kind of Famine Coming Soon

Amos 8:11 - " Behold the days are coming," says the Lord God, "that I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord..."

U.S. Supreme Court anti-Bible stance
June 30, 2009

Christian students at Kentridge High School in Washington State wanted to start their very own “Truth Bible Club” in their local High School. Of course the government subsidized Kent school district officials hated the idea and stopped it immediately. Keep in mind, this swift reaction wasn’t about wearing Satanic T-Shirts, vulgar clothing, tattoos, body piercing, Satanic Rock music, fornication, evolution, homosexuality, teen pregnancy, suicide, or even selling drugs on school property. All of which flourishes right under the noses of all school systems coast to coast. No, this is about allowing gentle and peaceful Christian kids the right to have safe and wholesome activities on school property...

How did the supposed Christian United States Supreme Court respond to such a request of the students that wanted to have a Bible club in their School?

SEATTLE (AP) – The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to stop the Kent School District from blocking a group of Christian students from forming a Bible club on a high school campus. --Source
