Muslims retain the right to worship according to their customs, while Jews, who also view the Temple Mount as holy, are forced to limit their religious activities (IsraelNationalNews.com, March 18, 2010)."

Although the Temple Mount Institute will likely not be granted the opportunity to offer sacrifices on the Temple Mount prior to the Passover, there is increasing pressure to allow equal access to worship on the Temple Mount. As America appears to be curtailing its relationship with Israel, the EU and the Catholic Church are “building” their relationships with Israel.

One of the clear signs of the end of the age, indicating Christ’s imminent return, is the cessation of Temple sacrifices. The sacrifices will apparently cease half-way through a seven-year treaty between many nations, and will be involved in triggering the beginning of the Great Tribulation (Daniel 9:27; 12:11).

In order for sacrifices to cease, they must first begin—and events appear to be moving in this direction!

Well, the deed is done. President Obama’s progressive health care plan is passed.

There are many givens in all of this. The plan is incredibly expensive, and among those things that are theoretically going to reduce its cost is a previously imaginary beast: government efficiency.

It isn’t partisan to say that the idea that our government will actually be able to add efficiency and reduce waste is a dubious one at best. The most honest of minds that I have read recognize that the plan is going to be terribly, terribly expensive — and at a time when we our debt is reaching truly frightening levels. Those nations to whom we owe money will certainly be paying attention.

There are also a number of questions. While individual positions differed (as they always will), much more of the American people felt the health care bill was a bad idea than a good one. Even many of those who wanted to change the status quo didn’t like this bill. Many were disgusted with the legislative bribes in the bill and with the catering to those with political connection in opposition to the will of the “unconnected” populous. Many were also frustrated with the lack of transparency of the process" ...

Also, the constitutionality of some of the provisions is surely going to be attacked. For instance, the Constitution of the United States — which defines the powers of federal authority — nowhere gives Congress the authority to require Americans to purchase a product, such as, in this case, insurance. The States have long enjoyed that authority" ...

However, the Constitution is always at the mercy of how it is interpreted by the current U.S. Supreme Court (since the vows to uphold the Constitution has long become a trivial consideration), so the final shape of all of this remains to be seen."...

A new congressional report released Friday says the United States' long-term fiscal woes are even worse than predicted by President Barack Obama's grim budget submission last month.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office predicts that Obama's budget plans would generate deficits over the upcoming decade that would total $9.8 trillion. That's $1.2 trillion more than predicted by the administration.

The agency says its future-year predictions of tax revenues are more pessimistic than the administration's. That's because CBO projects slightly slower economic growth than the White House.

The deficit picture has turned alarmingly worse since the recession that started at the end of 2007, never dipping below 4 percent of the size of the economy over the next decade. Economists say that deficits of that size are unsustainable and could put upward pressure on interest rates, crowd out private investment in the economy and ultimately erode the nation's standard of living.

Still, the Feb. 1 White House budget plan was a largely stand-pat document that avoided difficult decisions on curbing the unsustainable growth of federal benefit programs like the Medicare health care program for the elderly and Medicaid, which provides health care to the poor and disabled.

Instead, Obama has created an 18-member fiscal reform commission that's charged with coming up with a plan to shrink the deficit to 3 percent of the economy within five years. But the Republicans to be named to the panel by congressional GOP leaders are unlikely to go along with any tax increases that might be proposed, which could ensure election-year gridlock."

While the president is intent on ramming through Congress a new trillion-dollar health-care entitlement, he appears far less concerned with addressing the looming crisis of entitlement spending already on the books,' said Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, the top Republican on the Budget Committee.

'Instead, he delegates this task to a 'Fiscal Commission' — which would not even report until after the next election.

MUNICH, Germany — Germany supports the creation of a European army in the long term so that the EU can be a 'global player,' Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle told the Munich Security Conference on Saturday."

"'The long-term goal is the establishment of a European army under full parliamentary control.

'The European Union must live up to its political role as a global player. It must be able to manage crises independently. It must be able to respond quickly, flexibly and to take a united stand,' he said.

'We want strong European crisis management. This is not intended to replace other security structures. More Europe is not a strategy directed against anyone. No one has any reason to fear Europe, but everyone should be able to depend on Europe,' he added.

He said however that this would require a pooling of resources and distribution of responsibility 'even in times of ever scarcer means.'

The concept of a European army was set out in the 27-nation EU's reforming Lisbon Treaty,' he said.

'United Europe will only be secure if my generation, which has never experienced war, suffering or hunger, is strongly committed to European integration,' Westerwelle said.

'And my generation has a chance to extend this cooperation model far beyond Western Europe, perhaps even to the whole of the European continent.'"

President Obama today lobbied for his "gay" and "green" agendas both during the traditional appearance by a president before the National Prayer Breakfast.

Addressing the idea of civility, he said it actually has improved of late: "We haven't seen any canings on the floor of the Senate any time recently."

But the president whose party when it held a majority in the U.S. House and a so-called supermajority of 60 votes in the U.S. Senate pushed for its agenda items without, at times, even consulting the minority GOP, said, "At times, it seems like we're unable to listen to one another; to have at once a serious and civil debate."

He said such "erosion of civility in the public square" produces "division and distrust among our citizens."...

"Stretching out of our dogmas, our prescribed roles along the political spectrum, that can help us regain a sense of civility," Obama saida today.

Raising the issue of his longstanding support for homosexual causes, he said, "We may disagree about gay marriage, but surely we can agree that it is unconscionable to target gays and lesbians for who they are…"

Obama pushed hard for and signed into a law that gives homosexuals special protections against "hate," a law that, according to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, is a "menace" to civil liberties.

Obama also chose to honor as a "civil rights pioneer" a homosexual who said the God of the Bible is a "sinful, homophobic bigot" who needs to "seek forgiveness for the pain and suffering which his sinful homophobia has needlessly inflicted upon gay people for the past 4,000 years."
